”What Future After 4,5 Years of Occupation and Destruction?” A family at the Jibrin reception center in Aleppo, Syria, December 14, 2016. SPAR - Silk Peace Art Road Photo-based, multi-media project reaching from Shanghai to Venice My installation builds on a movement from China on the right/light side to the West (ugly and beautiful West) on the left/dark side. That left side contains images from Venice (Beautiful West) and from the ugly West’s war on Syria, concretely the liberation of Aleppo in December 2016 where I was one of the very few Westerners present. Unique photos repressed by media. As a peace researcher I have written a lot about that war and the media and political lies surrounding it. But censorship seems everywhere. I want to hold on to the war victims' sufferings also in my art work.
